What happens when the phone number listed to send verification code for Apple Pay is wrong?

you can update your phone number by going to settings>Apple ID (your name at the top)>name, phone numbers, email>reachable at - make sure your number is correct there.
Settings>Wallet & Apple Pay>transaction defaults>phone number - make sure its correct there also
