Apple Pencil position is off with Sidecar on MacBook Pro m1

This has been asked before but all answers given have been clearly wrong and useless.

When using Apple Pencil 1 and 10.5 inch iPad Pro with Sidecar on new Apple MacBook Pro M1, the pencil position is off by about a centimetre, making it barely usable. Other people have reported this problem and where told that the problem was with their Pencil but it this is clearly wrong because the same Pencil with the same iPad Pro and Sidecar works fine on an older MacBook running macOS Big Sur.

The same problem occurs with a new account on the same Mac.

Hello lucretius123,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, your Apple Pencil isn't working properly with your new MacBook Pro M1. We'll do our best to assist with this.

First, we'd ensure the Mac and iPad meets Sidecar requirements: Use your iPad as a second display for your Mac with Sidecar (Note the 'Additional requirements' below the device requirements.)

Then we'd recommend testing this further in multiple apps on your new M1 Mac. If the issue is isolated to a specific app, consider reinstalling that app. You can do this by right clicking the app in the Applications folder > Move to Trash. Then you can download the app once more from its original source.

If the issue occurs in multiple apps, then we'd recommend to Contact Apple Support

Hoping this helps out, take care!
