to replace or not to replace? a battery question

My late-2016 15-inch MBP only has 288 cycles but Full Charge Capacity dropped to 4769 mAh....

I intend to use it a year and half more. What you guys think? Should I replace the battery through Apple?

I would not. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

expected Cycle count is 1000.


with macOS 10.15.5 there is just two conditions: Normal and Service Recommended. This is dumbed down from the previous 4 conditions of the battery— missing are Replace Soon and Replace Now.


All batteries are going to lose capacity, if it is not an issue for you carry on...

If you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need portability then run on the battery.
