Magic Trackpad Power Off?

Just got a Magic Trackpad. Downloaded the software update and everything is working great. I even read the manual.

The manual says how to power on - it talks about turning the trackpad off when not using it, but it doesn't say how to power it off. I'm asking because I'd like to carry it around when traveling and I don't want the battery drained when it's in my bag.

Anyone know how to turn the power off, other than removing the batteries?

I'm pretty pleased. I've been a trackball user for my desktop machine and never really warmed up to the magic mouse. I like the change Apple made to the trackpads with the MacBook Pros - single glass pad - and the Magic Track Pad is very familiar. I like the larger size. And it just looks cool.

I've slid my trackball aside and turned off my Magic Mouse to give the TrackPad a go. So far, very favorable. I'll report back after a few days.

I just received trackpad, Followed directions to install, can move cursor can not get into it to program gestures. I have been talking to tier two support and engineering all afternoon. Their recommendation fresh install of operating system on other partition update to 10.4 then reinstall trackpad, still downloading updates. Not very happy it works but it doesn't , it sees it but can not be programed to do what they say it will, may have to go back to my wacoom tablet, it does even more but takes up more room on desk, it the trackpad is better than unmagic mouse.

I love mine - it's bigger than the trackpad on the MBP. And, now that I know how to turn it off the rapid-fire auto connect that prevented me from using my regular trackpad nightmare won't drive me batty again. One thing I noticed is the smoothness (I have the moshi palm guard and track pad protector on my MBP). It makes everything so effortless - really!! And this is from a long-time MS trackball explorer user (since the beginning), but no longer. It's a purchase I'll never regret!
