Stolen Mac

My MacBook Pro is stolen and it I locked it while it was offline. Then I got a notification that it was locked. Does that mean that the theft turned on my MacBook? If so can I get the location at the time he turned it on?

My understanding is Find My will not show a location for a computer because a computer does not have GPS.
