Photos - discard old iPhone

Hi All,

I have recently purchased a new iPhone, and transferred contents (e.g. Photos) to the new device. Now I would like to sell the old device (iPhone 6s), and need your inputs about the ideal process.

Is it safe (without also deleting photos from other device), to do the following:

  • Turn off Photos from iCloud (from the old device)
  • Reset (erase all content & settings) from old device

Would this ensure that the photos and other content gets deleted from the older device, & is still available on the new phone (and iCloud) ?

Any ideas & suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Pranav

There is a better and clear process that you should follow to ensure that everything remains on your new iPhone while the data gets deleted from your old iPhone (Reset).

Please follow the instructions in this guide published by Apple ➔ Before you Sell, Give away or Trade in your iPhone.
