Moving and saving pictures to make more space on iPhone
I have read that photos are deleted from iCloud when deleted from your iPhone. Are they deleted from other devices such as a MacBook? How do I make sure they're not?

When the precious things are safely stored on your computer, you can delete whatever you want on your iPhone/iCloud.
