Question: Templates Missing in Pages

I have Pages vs. 11.0 on a Macbook with Big Sur. I can no longer open templates in Pages. I want to print an envelope. The only template that opens is one I created in January, 2021. It doesn't matter if I click on the icon Pages in the dock, then click on New Document, or if, while the document is open, going to file and clicking on New.


I followed the instructions to open the Template window in Pages, then opening Time Machine. Time Machine only recorded from yesterday, April 16, 2021, nothing earlier.


How can I find the envelope template in Pages?

To answer your question regarding your data, it should be safe. However, we would highly recommend backing up those documents as a precautionary measure, either to a hard drive or saving them elsewhere, like to your desktop.


Prior to actually uninstalling Pages, though, let's check on a preference within Pages. Open the Pages app, then navigate to the top menu bar. Click Pages > Preferences. Under the General tab, check and make sure 'For New Documents' is set to 'Show Template Chooser'. If it's not, change it to that and then quit Pages and reopen Pages. See if that helps solve the issue you're seeing.

Thanks I_rina. I had already tried those steps. Shut down my laptop and tried them again after your suggestion, but that still didn't work. I thought of uninstalling and reinstalling Pages, but was concerned. Will the data, the documents I created in Pages, still be available when I download the "new" Pages?
