Transfer of data

I started the “Quickstart“ to transfer data from my iPhone 7 to my iPhone 12s. It began and then on my old phone it stopped saying unable to transfer. The new phone says it’s trying to do software update,

”install now” with the little spinning cog. What do I do now.?
