Apple Music cant login

Hi everybody!


I can't log into Apple Music, I put my credentials on the modal, hit Login but nothing happens! The modal just disappears but it doesnt login. I tried rebooting my Mac, also with a different wifi network, but nothing happens.


I tried creating another user (in users & groups) and then log into apple music and that worked, but cant login with my original user.


I am running MacOS Big Sur 11.2.


Hope someone can help me.

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you’re not able to log into your Apple Music on your Mac in your main user account, but you were able to log in when you created a new user. We’re happy to see if we can lend a helping hand here! 


It sounds like you’ve done some incredible troubleshooting with restarting your Mac, using another Wi-Fi network, and even creating a new user. When you have an issue that isn’t present in a new user it usually means that the concern is specific to a setting or login item in your normal user, so let’s focus on your login items. Try removing them (either one at a time or all at once) and restarting your Mac again to see if you can determine whether one of these may be interfering with your connection to the Apple Music servers. Note that security software is commonly the issue here, so you might start there.

Quick Update: In Apple Music, signed off, started a new library. Shutdown, restart in safe mode. Started Apple Music, selected sync, logged in, and voilá, started to update the music library from Apple servers. Once the library was updated, I restarted in the regular mode of macos and it is working now.


Still having problems with Apple Music in iPad, though.

Thank you for getting back to us so quickly! Knowing that you’re able to log in with the Podcasts app, but not play your music helps. Do you have a macOS update available? It appears the latest version of macOS Big Sur is 11.2.3.

You might also try deauthorizing and reauthorizing your Mac to play content associated with your Apple ID.

Thanks for your reply, but I do not have any item to remove.


Finally, I could login through Podcasts app, when I login in Podcasts It also logs in Apple Music, but now something more crazy is happening. When I try to play one song from a playlist, it skips really fast and starts skipping every song from my playlist. It doesn't matter if the playlist, or album, has only one song. It just doesn't play, it is like stuck trying to play the next song every time.


I tried again everything, a different wifi network, rebooting my Mac, and also with and without my AirPods connected. It seems a problem with Apple Music, because Podcasts works well.

Hi Francisco and Alicia,


I have this problem too, started today. Macos 11.2.3, cannot login into Apple Music. Service working fine in iPhone, and works perfectly from the web with my user (library, playlist, everything). Even started a new library with no luck. In the modal windows that appears to complete the Apple ID and Password I tried the wrong passwd, and got the info saying that. So it seems that the service validates Apple ID, but cannot connect to Music somehow.


Any help will be appreciated.
