A Few Thoughts:

See if any of these are an option:

• Disable: Cellular
• Disable: Wi-Fi
• Disable: Bluetooth
• Power Off: your router
• Log Out: of iCloud
• Connect to: a different network

Disable syncing via iCloud. On a computer, go to System Preferences > iCloud > uncheck any apps you want using iCloud.
