Draft Folder Apple Mail - Wrong Accounts

It sounds like email drafts are opening in another account when you try to continue working on your message, is that right? We'd like to help any way we can.

We'd like to get a few additional pieces of information to help narrow things down further.

1. Which macOS version is your Mac running at this time? Find out which macOS your Mac is using
2. Have you always experienced this behavior, or did this begin recently?
3. Are you using the steps under the "Open a draft" section of the following page to continue working on your message? Save draft emails in Mail on Mac

You mentioned that you tried to change the settings in Mail from Automatic to an individual account; when you try to select an individual account, does an error message ever appear? If so, what does the error say?

Do you experience the same issue in another user account? Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

To help narrow things down further, can you let us know if the issue also occurs in safe mode? If the issue doesn't happen in safe mode, please check out the "If the issue doesn't continue in safe mode" part of the following page: How to use safe mode on your Mac
