Hi rannyann,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand you have a new Mac and might be having an issue using Safari; is that right? If so, we're happy to help out!

First, when you say pages aren't loading, what exactly happens? If you get an error, what does it say?

Also, are other apps, like the App Store or Mail, working as expected?

Depending on the exact issue you're experiencing, the steps here might help. Check out this link, and let us know if you're in need of further assistance after trying these: Safari troubleshooting on Mac

States not connected to the internet and I am. Sometimes the page just turns blank white. Sometimes it loads but things look more like html language but it isn’t. This is just with my brand new MacBook Pro. My old MacBook Pro works perfectly. Sometimes with several reloads the page loads. Sometimes I give up. Just don’t think I should have to reload every time. Well I know I shouldn’t have to.

Hi rannyann,

Clarification, please;

You've posted this issue in the Pages for Mac community, where the main topic of discussion is issues and techniques involving the Mac version of Apple's word processing and page layout application "Pages."

But Community Specialist ryane77, possibly following the lead of the site's "Related Article" software, has assumed your question concerns the behaviour of Apple's web browser application "Safari."

If this assumption is correct, you may get a more specific solution if the discussion is moved to the Safari community.

Would you like me to request that move?

Regards,

Barry

First, try restarting the Mac. (Visit the Home Screen, at the top left, press the apple menu, and press restart.) And then check for an update. (Use Software Update

  1. Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu , then click Software Update to check for updates.
  2. If any updates are available, click the Update Now button to install them. Or click “More info” to see details about each update and select specific updates to install. You might be asked to enter your administrator password.

  3. When Software Update says that your Mac is up to date, the installed version of macOS and all of its apps are also up to date. That includes Safari, Music, Photos, Books, Messages, Mail, Calendar, and FaceTime.
  4. To automatically install future updates, including for apps that you got from the App Store, select “Automatically keep my Mac up to date.” Your Mac will notify you when updates require it to restart, so you can always choose to install those later.) also try updating apps. (Open App Store, then press updates, and update all the apps that are available.

HI rannyann,

Was this reply to ryane77 a response to my question regarding transferring this issue to the Safari community?

A reply to the message from the person asking the question would result in the action taking place earlier, as it would eliminate the necessity of asking this question.

Waiting for your confirmation.

Regards,

Barry

Please download and run EtreCheck. Share the generated report to the clipboard. Then open a new reply here, and within that reply then press the button that looks like a printed page to get a text input box big enough to paste the hardware and software configuration report here.

Some of the culprits here can be add-on anti-malware, add-on anti-virus, add-on VPN client apps, and add-on cleaners. Though there can be other causes.
