Macbook Pro 16" paint peeling off

My 7 months old macbook pro 16" space grey paint started peeling off a month ago, and it's gotten worse as days goes by. I've already sent in to Apple service center, after weeks of phone calls and texting, Apple decided not to repair my machine due to "Cosmetic Damage".

Then I read their warranty " (b) to cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents and broken plastic on ports unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship;"

"unless failure has occurred due to defect in materials"

Does anyone know if this part means if the defects are from Apple? I'm no lawyer, but I did my research online and discovered this article:

So apparently this guy seek help from his local Consumer agency, and they manage to win the case for him.

Anyone shares similar experience? I would like to escalate this case to my local Consumer agency as well, and even write to my local Apple headquarters here, would that help?

It's really painful to spent usd 3k+ for a machine that deteriorates so fast.

We are all other end users and are not allowed to discuss Apple's policies. You will need to seek the advice of someone else as we are also not allowed to speculate or conduct polls/opinions.

Personally, I see that as a chemical type reaction of the metal to your skin and/or lotion composition. That, unfortunately, happens.

It's whatever compound/metal is being used - it is most likely different either by model or old/newer technology. I have many reactions with my skin composition (and cause them as well). I've used their products for a very long time:

However, they used to sell just the palmrest and trackpad ultra thin covers and that is what I've been using. Works well, but they may not have those any more. Anyway, check out something like that - as long as it is ultrathin.

I'd recommend you get a very good and very thin wrist skin/pad when you get it back.

So you are saying the newer technology of finishing with new models are worse than the older models?

No, I am not. We are all other end users here and I have no idea how and what materials are used in the manufacturing process. You said that your older device does not have a problem, so I offered a supposition that it may be of a different material - that is all.
