My MacBook Pro (2020) will not allow me to download photos from an SD card onto the computer. I've gone into Photos/Preferences/General and tried to select "Use as System Photo Library" but the option is grayed out and I cannot select it.
I'm using a Hyper Drive 7-in-2 USB-C hub on my computer, and it has an SD card slot. Nothing happens when it's plugged in and an SD card is inserted.
Any advice?

Sounds like it is already selected.

Try /Applications/Image Capture and then import to Photos.app and try to adjust the import settings in either of them.
Hi - What are you expecting to happen when it is inserted? Photos won't automatically just be transferred by plugging in the card.
In photos, you need to go to file>import, and then select the SD card for the location to import from.
