iphone 7 home button not responding after battery change

I changed the battery in my iPhone 7 and now the home button doesn't respond. What would cause that? I opened it back up and nothing looks out of place.

You messed up your phone. We can't help you and Apple won't help you since you decided to DIY a battery repair on your own. iPhone is not user serviceable. And you couldn't buy an authentic Apple Battery as Apple does NOT sell parts.

Since Apple won't touch your phone at this point, take it to an iFixit kind of place and see if they can help you.

Here's the thing, this is the third iPhone 7 I've changed the battery in. The first two I had zero problems and this one works fine except for the home button. It doesn't "click" when you push on it. I was hoping for a suggestion of what might be be wrong, not to get chewed out for saving my family some money. BTW, the batteries I buy are on eBay and they're advertised as genuine OEM Apple 1960 mah batteries. They even have the Apple logo on them just like the ones I pulled out.

I'm not sure what you're expecting here. eBay, nor anyone else has the ability to sell OEM batteries for iPhone. So they lied or they added the logo or they're fake.

Sorry you're offended, but iPhone has NEVER been DIY serviceable. Perhaps saving your family money didn't work out so well here. Apple charges $49 to replace the battery in iPhone 7. Was your savings really worth the hassle you're having?

You clearly messed something up and we can't help you. You need a professional service tech to help you directly with your phone. And it can't be Apple, because Apple won't touch a phone which has been tampered with.

We're just users on this forum. We're not iPhone Technicians. You need an actual technician to see what was messed up by the battery install. This is simply not the place to get any meaningful help for your situation.

I get all of that, all I'm looking for is direction to solve the problem. I don't expect Apple to do anything, it's a friggin' iPhone 7. They won't even be supporting them in a couple of years and it'll be useless anyway. I'll figure out the issue and fix it! Thanks for the help.
