Here are some steps that may help.

• Open the iTunes app (macOS Mojave or earlier) or Music app (macOS Catalina or later).
• From the Sidebar, select Songs.
• From the Menu Bar, select View > Show Status Bar. The number of songs will appear at the bottom center of the window.
