Mac air won't start even after repair

A while back my Mac air shut down completely and wouldn't turn on. So I consulted a technician for this and got it repaired but it kept switching on and off and then it completely blanked out and wouldn't start anymore. What is the best solution for a dead mac after you have already consulted a Mac genius? Is it hopeless now or can something be done about it?
