iPhone 12 mini bluetooth pairing with car audio

hi, I tried to connect our new car radio with iphone12 mini via bluetooth. It did not work. It shows the radio, but always says connection failed. We have no problem with the old iPhone 5. The radio supports bluetooth 2.1 and the protocolls HFP, PBAP, A2DP and AVRCP. The radio brand is Blaupunkt. Apple technical support said 5.0 is downward compatible and supports 2.1. So where is the problem?
