New Siri remote

I currently have two Apple TV 4K's. Is it possible to use the new siri remote with an existing Apple TV 4K? If so, is it possible to purchase just the remote? If not why not. Thanks.

Apple indicated today the new Siri Remote will work with 4th generation Apple TV HD & 4K Apple TV's.
