It is not.

AirPlay was introduced with the 2nd generation [A1378].

Note that some content providers do not support AirPlay to a 2nd generation anymore (i.e. Disney+, Apple TV+).

Note that some content providers do not support AirPlay at all (i.e. Netflix).
