My watch won’t or can’t send the data in the activity app to the iPhone fitness app until nearly midnight. Then for an hour or so the watch sends the data but then stops again. The activity data is being recorded on the watch but not being transferred over to my iPhone. Why is this suddenly happening?

It usually takes a few minutes, but it should not take that long. The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.

Thank you for your reply. I carried out the first step 2/3 times but it would not transfer the data from my watch to my iPhone.
I was therefore left with no other option than to Ireys the watch and set up the watch again to my iPhone.
despite a backup being made there was data loss as the activity app shown in the above photo was not transferred to the back up so now it looks like I did not close my activity rings on one day, I won’t get the perfect week, and I also won’t get the perfect month. I was so lost about 10 miles I had run that day for the April challenge. Also my longest move streak was destroyed and went back to 1 day. This is all very disappointing.
Has anyone Idea what caused this and will it happen again?
