AirPods microphone does not work

My mic wont work. My friends can barely hear me on FaceTime and the airpods are being inconsistent on their mic sound and they’re 1 day old

Airpods second gen microphone not working Recently, my left airpod microphone can no longer be heard on facetime, the right one was like this for a while. I thought they broke, but i used live listen just to see. And they work just fine, clear as day and neither has a problem, however siri cannot hear either airpod and neither can anyone i call. Anyone know how to fix this?
