My Apple Watch Series 3 is not updating to 7.3.3 because of space lower than 3.1 GB

An update came last month to install OS 7.3.3 on my watch and I tried to install, it needs 3.1 GB disk space which is not available. After so many retries it didn't work and I had to unpair. It didn't work even then.

After that I factory reset my watch, now when I am pairing it first ask to update to 6.5 and when i do it goes to update for 7.3.3 and again stucks on low disk space. Any solution please?

After several tries, I unpaired watch and phone again. Then paired them and set up the watch as a New Watch. I was sure to choose the option of adding apps later, rather than automatically adding all apps on my phone. That opened up a lot of space on my watch and I was finally able to upgrade and pair with phone.

I actually did (without taking the watch in). I restarted my watch and phone, then went through the reinstall endless loop again. When it prompted me to update my watch I clicked no. Then restarted the watch again and it reset to all the original settings.

Honestly, I don't know that I could do it again if I tried. I just kept turning it off, had it connected to power, and clicked no for the watch update.

I hope that helps...

I have the same. I am stuck in a loop of unpair, pair then update. I can’t do anything on the watch app on my phone except pair, unpair or update but when I update (after unpairing then pairing) it says I don’t have enough storage for the update and to get on my watch app on my phone. Which only allows me to pair unpair or update. I have an Apple Watch 3 and an iPhone 12.

I am following. I have a useless Apple Watch 3 right now. So frustrating! I have unpaired and reset watch. I was finally able to download update and now phone says “installing”. I have my watch on charger near my phone but I will need to use my phone today when I get on the road. Does phone have to stay near watch until done?

I'm having the same problem and i'm beyond frustrated. My S3 watch flashed up that it was full & had no storage last week, plus an update was pending. I ignored it for days, then tried to install the update on Monday afternoon. It spent several hours, then failed. Since then I have tried again several times, deleted the watch app from my phone, reset the watch to factory settings, and retried to pair it at least half a dozen times. It says I can't pair the watch until I do the update; but the update just freezes or fails. I'm absolutely stuck with a watch that won't even tell the time. Please help!!

Thank you very much for the responses, I tried the old phone sync method as I have a iPhone 5s with iOS 12.x

.That did not work , when I tried to update the watch it automatically un-pairs my watch.

I also tried "erase all settings" suggested by Fiery Jack.

No luck yet, I may have to go to the store to get it updated. So frustrating.

I will report back, I am surprised Apple hasn't provide any workaround officially for this yet.

In my case I have an Apple Watch series 3, went to do the 7.4 update and ended up in this same loop all of the other people are describing. I have unpaired, repaired, restarted both devices multiple times and have yet to get this update to install. on one of the attempts I even got a message through the Apple Watch app saying it couldn't do the update because I wasn't connected to the internet... which is ridiculous... my phone was connected to wifi and cellular.

I'm very troubled by this problem and would really like some way to restore my watch from the backup I have but the watch app on my iPhone (XR) won't even give me that option. The only thing it will let me do is pair the watch and then it immediately wants to install the update. It won't let me do anything else. If I choose skip the update it just unpairs the watch again and starts over.

I've tried everything in all the links provided already in this thread. Anyone know anything new since 6-17-2021?
