I do I get rid of the split screen in mail on my iPad

Simply grab the small, thin white bar in the middle of the heavier, thicker split screen black bar and slide it either all the way to right or left until the Mail app appears in just a single full screen window.

You cannot get rid of all of the split panels ( NOT screens ) in the iOS Mail app.

You can get rid of the 1st panel by simply tapping the icon in the upper left corner of the Mail app that looks like the Mail app screen layout.

The default iOS Mail app will always have the Mail list panel to the left.

If you do not like the UI layout and function of the default iOS Mail app/client, there are other third party email apps/clients, in the iOS App Store, that maybe a better UI and layout that maybe better for how you want your email to appear in an email app.

I do not see a thin line and a thicker line on my split screen. I only see a thinner line and I cannot swipe it to get rid of the split screen.

I also tried the information about the two boxes and when I pushed it it

did not swipe up with "merge all tabs" in a menu. Thx

I’ve had my ipad for 13 months and still cannot figure out how to get rid of the split screen. There is no black line. I’velooked through theguide, swiped every which way, and, zilch. Why have all the bells and whistles when it is impossible todo the simple things? Or even find it in a. Comprehensive index? The space bar alsomalfunctions😩
