FCPX keyboard commands oddity (explained with screen recording) - help needed urgently

I have this odd issue with the keyboard COMMANDS.

I own a Logic Keyboard ASTRA keyboard (this one: https://logickeyboard.com/shop/logic-pro-x-mac-backlit-astra-keyboard-3526p.html) with the German extended layout. And I am having odd problems to set it up and map it in Final Cut Pro X. Therefore I did this screen recording because it would be difficult to believe otherwise:

When I enter FCPX, and open the COMMANDS editing section, it shows the extended American (QWERTY) keyboard layout. But when I then press a key on my keyboard, it immediately “”switches” to the German ISO keyboard layout (QWERTZ), without the extended keyboard portion. Whenever I press the keyboard after that, it sticks to that layout and only changes the options.

And yes, before you ask: I did trash FCPX's preferences. Twice.

This is REALLY odd.

I am in the middle of a project and am seriously bothered by this. Therefore it would be good if anybody had a quick solution.

Also, it would be nice if Apple please addressed this kind of compatibility issue with external keyboards for professional applications.

System: Big Sur 10.15.2

FCPX: 11.2.3

Machine: MacBook Pro 16 inch late 2019

Installed Keyboard layouts: German (no, the ABC is NOT installed)

The ASTRA keyboard is connected directly to the MacBook Pro (not via a hub)
