Purchasing a new computer

I have the Mac mini; purchased in 2014. Since Big Sur, it has had issues. I would like to purchase a new computer which, since I am 82 years old, will probably be my last. I enjoy a 27" screen now and love it. I would like advice about whether to purchase the new model where the computer is in the monitor or to just replace the Mac mini. I have MANY photos on my computer and love playing around with them. I wouldn't need any real high tech editing; just the basics. Knowing the above, will I be able to transfer to the new model? Are there a lot of differences? Have there been any issues with the computer built within the monitor? Should I wait for the newer model? I belong to "Best Buy Elite Service" and am able to have the Geek Squad assist when necessary. I consider this somewhat of an investment in my well being (LOL) and am willing to pay the price; though I will look for a sale price! Thanks for the opportunity to seek your advice.
