MacBook photo library - no media type for photo

I am looking for photos in the media type - there is only Live photos - how can I add regular photos?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.14

There is no ready-made media type for it. If all your photos are RAW, use the RAW media type.

You could create a smart album:

  • File > New Smart Album
  • Match all
    • Photo is not Video
    • Photo is not Live Photo"
    • Photo is not Screenshot


Combine the available rules according to your needs.

If all your photos are having the same filename extension, you could also create a smart album with the rule "Filename ends with ".JPEG" or similar. Look the filename extension of your photos.
