That model-year has an HDMI port, and could be connected directly to your TV set as a display with a straight HDMI cable you may have on hand for your TV.


If you just erase its built-in SSD drive (from Recovery) the default erase option makes all data unaccessible in about a minute.


However, if you are donating it, it is common courtesy to Install the original shipped-in-the-box version of macOS.
