unable to update to new OS

I have a MacBook Air (11-inch, Early 2015) and had OS X and doesn't show an option to update to the newest OS BigSur. Can you help me figure out why?

Your MacBook Air model should be compatible for macOS Big Sur. See if the following support article can help:
