Keep AirPlay Stream with closed lid.

Hey all!

I was wondering if it was at all possible to keep an AirPlay stream going with the lid on my Macbook Pro closed - I was reading up and saw a lot of things regarding a closed-clamshell set up; however that only seems to work whilst connected via HDMI. Is it possible to have the lid closed and keep the AirPlay stream alive?

If so - how would I go about doing that?

EDIT: I tried plugging it in and when the lid closes, the stream still ends.

Many Thanks,

Reece.
