sync calendar/contacts with iCloud versus iTunes

@jimbob5941: Gordon Kelly will be providing his final verdict around 31-Jan on iOS 16.3. If it remains as currently stands, I will be upgrading and will continue to let everyone know.

That being said, do you all think that the original warning from Apple has more to do with Office 365?

I purchased Office 2019 to absolutely avoid moving to the subscription-based licensing model. And, with all that remains intact with the last of that MS Office kind of install, I wonder if anyone with such versions or older will not be affected by the change of which Apple warned, again, because it is intended around Office 365.

Don't know but interesting thought. Guess we will find out eventually. I just bought MS Office 2021 for the same reason to avoid Office 365. Haven't installed it yet.

That is some interesting news in and of itself, @thotnavy! I thought 2019 was the last non-subscription version MS was going to release! Another topic for another time, but just had to say.

iOS 16.3 with iTunes 12.12.7.1 and Outlook 2019 still syncs just fine with Contacts and Calendar.

Only 5 years of support this time but still worth it!

I can confirm the following setup still synchronizes Contacts and iTunes continues to display the Deprecation message about happening in the future.

FYI-I did not check the Calendar sync since I don't use it at the moment but i feel it would still work fine at least for now :)

iTunes 12.12.7.1 + iOS 16.3 + Outlook [2013]

I can confirm the confirmation above. Sync still works normally (Calendar AND Contacts) with:

iTunes 12.12.7.1 + Windows 11 (22H2) + iOS 16.3 + Outlook 2016

Only a bugger each time your code is required to validate your trust in your computer.

Yeah, @FrenchPierre, I am not loving that new feature of having to enter my PIN to trust the iPhone to the PC/iTunes.

I bought a copy of Office 2021 Professional thru Stack Social for ~$40

I really half expected it would be a scam, but at that price, and after a little due-diligence I gave them the $40

The offer was legit, and I now have a perm. license for 2021.

It syncs fine with iOS 16.2

I am about to upgrade to iOS 16.3

I saw the Forbes bug about iCloud backups, but I don't use the iCloud so ... what the heck!

I've been using it for several months now without issues, sync is fine.

Slightly off topic, but my Outlook.PST file reports a number of errors (like 100 or os?) like this when I run ScanPST, and they can't be repaired. Does anyone know of a fix?
