Sony TVs say they accept 1080p input.

More generally, what's the best small TV for Apple TV 4K? We want a 40" or 43".

Apple TV 4K second-generation output is HDMI 2.1, which includes 720p, 1080p, and all the way up to 4K.

Here are the Apple TV 4K first-generation specs: Apple TV 4K - Technical Specifications

Tech specs for the second-generation do not seem to be available yet.

You’re going to have to look at the TV models and options available, as your needs and expectations and preferences and perception and budget can or will differ from those of others.

Thanks for your response.

I realize that Apple TV will connect to various TVs.

Our constraint is 43" or 40" (to fit on a cart).

We don't care about "smart," since we are planning to upgrade to the latest Apple TV 4K, and we don't care about gaming.

We just want the best picture for movies, one that takes advantage of what the latest Apple TV 4K can supply, if that's possible.
