How do I get rid of the spinning globe after trying to factory reset

The spinning globe indicates it is trying to do an internet restore. Pick a WiFi network that is secure, so it can find the internet recovery data over the network, or get an adapter for ethernet and connect to your modem.


Assuming there is no data on Mac you need to recover, command-option-shift-R will give you a chance to recover the oldest system that shipped with the Mac.
