Difficulty Pairing keyboard

I am unable to get my SlimFolio case keyboard to pair with my iPad. The message I am getting is "Pairing took too long. Make sure "slim folio" is turn on, in range, and is ready to pair." The green light on the keyboard will only stay on for a few seconds during the process.
