I'm running Yosemite and no updates are available
hello for some reason when i check for updates it tells me there are none available and i know I'm running very old softwear yosemeti

The keywords are Update & Upgrade... there are no Updates for Yosemite, or even High Sierra.
Upgrades are like Yosemite 10.10 to El Capitan 10.11, or El Capitan 10.11 to Sierra 10.12, or Sierra 10.12 to High Sierra 10.13
See if you can upgrade to 10.11, 10.12, 10.13, 10.14, or 10.15, see sys requirements...
