Brand New Apple Watch Won't Work

Hey,

I just unboxed my apple watch and started the pairing setup. I scanned it on my phone so that the watch can connect to my phone, then my phone said I had to update the watch, then it said I had to update the phone. So I updated the phone, while the phone was updating the watch went to this screen were it said "40mm Aluminum Case - Made by apple - in California" then when I tap the screen it says "Continue Setup on Phone." After my phone updated the watch was no longer connected (only on the phone) so I went back into the Watch App and tried pairing it again but this time my camera wouldn't open for me to do the scanning thing again. So I've tried restarting my phone, my watch, I've deleted the watch app and that allowed me to get the camera part back so I could scan the watch. However, the watch wont change screens and I cannot do anything on the watch, and I can't pair it anywhere on the phone. This is very frustrating and I have no idea what to do.

Hi, Camerson_C3, and thanks for reaching out to us on the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having issues connecting your new Apple Watch. We will be happy to help you get this sorted out.

To start, we'd recommend following the steps in the following article: Unpair and erase your Apple Watch

Since you're unlikely to be able to access the "Settings" app on your watch, due to it being in the setup process, you may need to try this:

Put your Apple Watch on its charger, then press and hold the side button until you see Power Off. Press and hold the Digital Crown, then tap Reset.

Afterwards, you should be able to restart the setup process.

Let us know if you need any further assistance, and thanks again for reaching out.

Cheers!
