Pairing an iPhone X with a One Touch Glucose Meter

Does anyone have experience pairing an iPhone X with a One Touch Verio Flex Glucose Meter? I have followed all the instructions from One Touch, but I still get an error message that says, "Failed to Pair A Meter." I just received my second new meter, and before I start I'd like to know if it would be advisable to completely reset the iPhone back to a new phone and start all over again. Thank you very much.
