Need replacement iMovie 10.x for Mojave

I recently jumped from OS El Capitan to Mojave. I was distract to find that there is nor readily available version of iMovie 10.x or newer that I can get . I've always had iMovie but the only version available from Apple requires 10.15 Catalina or newer. WHICH ***.

Same argument for Pages from iWork... which should be FREEly available to loyal Mac users, but has been erected for Mojave or older.

Why does Apple not provide replacement apps for the macOS they otherwise still $upport ?

Mac mini, macOS 10.14

Not sure what your second "PS" post is referring to, but here is the procedure for updating to the most current version of iMovie that your operating system can run:

To update/redownload iMovie 10, drag your iMovie 10 app from the Applications folder into the trash, but do not empty the

trash. Sign in to the app store and open your purchases folder by clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar. You will see your purchases displayed, including iMovie 10. Redownload/update iMovie from there. If not successful, drag your present iMovie app out of the trash and return it to the Applications folder.

Thanks, but I do not have an existent version of iMovie in my apps folder. Just got a computer last week with a barren system drive and installed Mojave clean. No Apple apps came with that ...just the OS. My iMovie's v. 10.x are on other older Mac Minis running El Capitan. I need to do a new install of iMovie but Apple won't allow older versions out of the Deprecation dungeons. I determined this from a very long chat with Apple Support just now. They refuse to abide. You can only download and install the latest versionand only for Catalina or Big Sur. Doesn't work for me...

Did you try the procedure I described? If you obtained your earlier iMovie 10 app with the same Apple I.D. with which you registered your recently acquired computer iMovie might be displayed in your purchases folder in the app store and you might be able to update it on your new computer. You could skip the step of dragging your iMovie app from the Applications folder into the trash.

If no luck, you might be able to drag your iMovie app from your old computer to a thumb drive, and from there onto your new computer. Not sure if that would work or whether it is legal in Apple’s view. None of us on this forum speak for Apple.
