After the recent big sur update on my M1 MacBook Air the Touch ID has been erratic, sometimes working and then completely stopping. Any solutions?

Do monitor as have seen some where the issue reoccurs. At that point - suggest opening an Apple Service Ticket. It would be worthwhile advising Apple of this but at means.

Shutdown computer / keep lid open and discount all external drives. Press and Hold the Power / Touch ID Button ( same button ) for 10 seconds. Restart computer normally and TEST.
