Installed 11.3. Get msg 'relocated items..." Don't know what thistle is, how it got changed, or whether I should care. Anyone know what this is? Suppled remedy doc is unclear to me.
Thanks

If you don't recognize anything in there, delete it.
If you had stored files at the top level of the startup drive in some previous OS, those files would get moved into that folder.
If you change configuration files, like the Apache web server, SMB, etc., then the OS will replace those changes with default files and you would need to edit the new files to match your old. But, if you don't do that, you don't need to bother with much of anything in there.

Same here. The explanation in the pdf is not helpful. "group" can only be changed by the system, so a normal user would have difficulties to change that file. The only difference between old an new files is the following line in the new "group":
_trustd:*:282:_trustd
Looks like something slipped through the final quality assurance.
Anyway, "group" starts with some information, in particular:
# Group Database
#
# Note that this file is consulted directly only when the system is running
# in single-user mode. At other times this information is provided by
# Open Directory.
So simply disregard everything except if you use single-user mode.
You’re not supposed to change those files. They were removed because the OS changed something. If you don’t recognize the file as being something you manage, just delete it. it means nothing to you.
Same here. This folder is a shortcut to some moved files. I also get these and I just delete and have had no issues.
Agree with previous person's posting. Just remove to Trash if desired.
Thanks to all who responded. Usual cleanup after "updates and upgrades".
