I am also having the same problem with iPassword! I have years of passwords saved in the iPassword app which I had paid for ad free. Now I cannot access any of the data. I am furious with both apple and the developer that this has happened with now prior notice so I could download my data to protect it.

I restored my passwords using an ipassword backup and itunes. I connected an old iphone that already had ipassword on it (or you could add it from your old purchases) to my computer.

I dragged the backup to itunes by going to device icon, file sharing, ipassword.

Then I went to the ipassword app on the old phone and found the menu to restore the backup on the bottom of the app and followed the directions.

This was very similar to the icloud restore someone successfully accomplished. I always make a backup before upgrading my phone, but since the passwords on the backup were encypted, the backup seemed useless. It was easy once I followed this group’s ideas and altered it a bit. I still have a lot of work to do. Thank you.

so from reading everyone's post - unless you have an old phone around to use - you are pretty much screwed. Shame on me for recycling mine.... ughhhh . i tried using a friends old 7 that had been completely erased but it wont let you down load the back up without updating the software. So I guess i am totally screwed. Thanks everyone for all your input. Il keep my app on my phone for a while longer in case someone else comes up with a solution.

I tried the free version of iMazing for PC and wasn't able to extract the app data for iPassword v.3.7 so that I could restore onto another device with an older iOs. I was able to get some info from 'Library'. Any ideas how I can get this info into new version of iPassword or the view the info? It seems all password info is in the 'XFFile' folder but not in a readable format.

iPassword needs to updated by developer...Developer took a hike and Apple does not offer a support, funny uh! Apple accepts the app by the developer and developer says "Can I go whenever I want and leave million of people out of luck?

Apple replies "Sure..who cares" This is exactly what happened.

What I did was first bought an iPhone 6 like someone suggested and did not work, but hopefully a friend had an iPhone 8

I was able to backed it up with a backup that I had from October of 2020 and open de iPassword app and took a bunch of pics

of the relevant passwords I had along with SS#s medical notes and more. I was able to recuperate all the data fortunately.

get an iPhone 8 (I borrowed one from a friend) I also have a Mac.

Go to settings, General, reset and choose Erase All Contents and Settings

when your iPhone 8 starts. Do your regular setting up like it was new

when it asks you if you want to backup…choose other options

make sure you choose to backup NOT with the latest backup, but preferably with a backup of year 2020

or before the release of the iOS 14.5 this will give access to IPASSWORD because at this time you do not want

to update your iPhone 8.

Open ipassword like you used to, and start taking detail pics of your list of passwords, do not forget to unveil your password

before you take the pics

this pics will be store in your iCloud make sure you can see them in your iCloud before you clean your iPhone 8

this sound stupid but that is what I did….get pic by pic and copy manually all your passwords onto your new password app.

I bought 1password.

Sorry, I know the method is very primitive..but that is the most effective way I could come up with.

I went so far as to buy iMazing and still no luck getting app data from iPassword ver 3.7 (original on iPhone) over to pc. I have an iPad with iOS 13.6 but I am not sure if I should back up iPhone 6s (yes I know it’s old) with iOS 14.5 to iCloud and do or a restore or not. I am afraid it will force me to update the iPad to 14.6 from which there is no going back. Any help greatly appreciated as I have several years of passwords.
