app not working after ios update

I just updated my iphone 12 pro to IOS 14.5. Now my ipassword app won't open. It says the app needs to be updated by the developer. Its holding 7 years worth of usernames and passwords. I tried contacting the developer and the email is invalid. If I restore my iphone to a previous IOS will that make the app compatible again? Any other suggestions?

ipassword has been abandoned and it looks like the developer has gone out of business.

You can not downgrade iOS.

I had an issue with 1Password yesterday. You can contact them by going to the 1Password site (note that it is 1Password, not iPassword). Scroll to bottom of page and find Contact Us. There are several ways to contact. I selected Email which was promptly and helpfully answered. I see that there is an iPassword, be sure which your program you are using.

Woke up this morning with iPhone automatically updated (why doesn’t it ask for permission anymore?) and unable to access all of the very important information (passwords, codes, etc) stored in iPassword, and from reading the discussions, no way to access it. I’m not sure what to do. All the more reason to be less reliant on technology. A warning from Apple, before the update, would have been greatly appreciated. Then I could have written down all my passwords and other information. I used that app almost daily to access important information. This was indispensable information and I erroneously thought this app was the best way to store it and that I would always be able to access it from the cloud. I was wrong to trust technology on this manner.

That is not an Apple app, it is up to the developer to keep it up. It is also up to the user to make sure all of their apps are current, apparently this developer abandoned this version some time ago.

Look for the iPassword thread that is in the forum and a user named C-Pens has a method of possibly recovering your data.
