Macbook Pro 15 inch 2018 is connecting to iphone 6S hotspot via wifi but no internet

Shows that the Macbook Pro is connected to iPhone 6S hotspot (if and when it actually does connect...usually takes a few tries)
Able to connect via Bluetooth and/or Wifi, but no internet

I've tried:

Turning off all other wifi and bluetooth devices in the area
Updating iOS to latest version (14.5)
Updating OS to latest version (11.2.3)
Multiple network resets
Turning both devices off and on, multiple times
Unpairing (Forgetting old network settings) and then Re-pairing devices via Bluetooth and Wifi
Connecting only Bluetooth, only Wifi, and Bluetooth and Wifi — all successfully, except no internet
Signing in with same AppleID
Using other browsers
Successful wifi internet on an iPad
Changing the APN settings from ltedata.apn to ltemobile.apn, doesn't make a difference

The only thing that works:

Hotspot connection via USB cable, except data transfer is slow compared to wifi (so I hear).

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.2
