Sudden battery drainage on watchOS 7.4 update

Hi, I had my Apple watch series 6 since launch and never really had an issue with my battery. Before the latest update, I could get at least one and a half days of use before charging again. Since this latest 7.4 release, the watch can't even hold one day's worth of use. It's odd because the battery health has also gone down to 97%, which seems odd as my iPhone 12 pro battery life has improved massively since the latest ios update, and battery health is still 100%.

Does anyone have the same issue?

To understand Apple Watch performance and its relation to your battery, see:

“Battery life” is the amount of time your device runs before it needs to be recharged. “Battery lifespan” is the amount of time your battery lasts until it needs to be replaced. Maximize both and you’ll get the most out of your Apple devices, no matter which ones you own. See the "Tips for Apple Watch" section in:

FWIW, in some cases, unpairing the watch, completely erasing it, then pairing and restoring the backup will resolve the battery draining issue after an update.

I'm having the same problem; ever since the watchOS 7.4 update my series 5 battery only lasts about 6 hours. Previously it would last all day, and the battery health indicator on the battery preferences screen says it still has 93% of its battery health.

It's definitely something wrong with the watchOS 7.4 update. There have been no other changes to my watch between the time that it kept a charge all day and now.
