Is anyone else having issues with battery draining since the update to 7.4?
I have the series 5 watch, and the battery goes from 100% to 0% in approx five hours.
I've tried a re-set on the watch, and it still seems as bad.
I find that this sometimes happens after updates, but it often clears up on it's own after a day or two. With this update, I had some battery drain on Tuesday and Wednesday, but Thursday was fine.
When it gets very low, it will ask to go into "power reserve". You should turn that on, then charge it. Sometimes that's all it needs, and after it charges up again it will be back to normal.
If that doesn't work, you can try unpairing/repairing your watch and phone, but that's a last resort. It takes a while and is pain in the neck, so just waiting to see if the battery issue goes away by itself (or if there's another software update to fix it in a few days) is a better option at first.
My watch has been going flat after 8hrs, this has been like this for the last 3 weeks. It did fix itself for 2 days then returned back to dying in half a day! Come on Apple this is rubbish, the 7.6 update didn’t fix it either!!
why can’t you come up with a cure?
7.6 seems to have made this worse, with my battery dying even sooner than before. I’ve turned off WiFi, which helps a little, but again, the battery does not last nearly as long since the release of the update to use your watch to unlock your phone.
They did give me a new watch and it worked for several weeks. Now the same intermittent issue exists. This morning I have had it on for two hours and its still at 100%; some days after two hours is down to 50%. Apple refuses to admit they have an issue.
Are you running the beta software of the regular ios version??
I had the same issue. My original watch drained on SOME days to 0% by 10am. Some days is lasted all day. I had apple send a new series 6 and it fixed it for a few weeks; now its doing the same thing but not quite as bad. I have deleted all unnecessary apps, experimented with cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. I will try your resolution and get back to you! Thanks for posting this advice!
YES!!!!! I have tried everything I have read online and it does not work. Mine will be at zero by 4:00 p.m. each day.
Mine appears to last longer (anecdotally)
same issue on a series 4 but interestingly enough, no problem on a series 3
Yes, my Series 5 is draining about 50% quicker post 7.4. :-(
I’m also having a battery issue with my Apple Watch 5. It’s been draining extremely quickly since I updated to WatchOS 7.4, hopefully this issue is fixed soon.
My issue seems to have sorted itself after approx 48hrs and i now am getting the full charge / usage out of the watch.
definitely call support, because if the don't get the data, they won't and can't change anything, 7.4.1 was mainly an security update
since the 7.4.1 update battery is now fine - i suspect that there might have been a bug fix in there too
For me it worsened the Problem
My 7.4.1 update seemed to fix the issue .....but only for two days. Back to very quick battery drain again.
after another week. Battery drains 70% in sleep mode and basically no activity would drain 60-70% in 5 hrs sitting at my desk. Need to charge watch 3 times a day
