Phone went through the washing machine

I accidentally sent my iPhone 8 through the washing machine, I'm not sure how long it was in there for, but definitely less than an hour. When I managed to get it out, it still turned on (it did it on its own, I was trying to keep it off), but I could see water in the screen. There is also visible water in the back camera.

I have it powered off right now, and there is a fan in front of it to hopefully dry it out. Will it be okay to use after about a week of me letting it dry? Or should I remove the SIM card an just save for a new phone.

It will likely die. Water and electronics are not good friends. Water damage is not covered by iPhone warranty. Be prepared to purchase either an out of warranty replacement or a new iPhone.

Hopefully, you regularly back up your phone so you'll be able to restore your backup data to your new phone.

Also, I wouldn't wait a week. I'd schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and let Apple see the phone. They'll give you your options.
