Hi oteniel,
We understand you're having some issues with your Mac restarting unexpectedly.
The following page offers information that may help: If your Mac restarted because of a problem
If you need further assistance, we'd like to learn more about what you're encountering. The more information you can provide, the better the chances a member of the support communities will be able to provide a helpful response.
For example, are you seeing a message before or after the restart? If so, what does it say? How often is your Mac restarting? Is there any discernable pattern to when it occurs, like when using a particular app, or trying to complete a specific task?
Can you tell us the version of macOS installed on your MacBook Air? To find that, click the Apple menu, and choose "About this Mac".
Cheers!
Hi again oteniel,
To be sure we understand, is your Mac restarting unexpectedly specifically when you encounter this password prompt?
What action usually results in the prompt for your Master Password appearing. Are you trying to set up Touch ID?
Has Touch ID worked for you in the past?
Thanks.
Dare say - one might consider either Wiping the Drive Clean and Reinstalling from Scratch OR if one has the Time Machine Backup - restoring from the Backup
Are you using Set a firmware password on your Mac ?
Big Sur version 11.3
I’m not using firmware password
FileVault ?
No file vault either . Just password to unlock computer
I ended up wiping the device clean and it worked. Installed the latest software with no issues. Thanks to everyone that replied.
Welcome and Thank you too.
FYI…Not during password prompt. It was very random and sometimes during browsing. But it’s all set now. Thank you.
