Using ethernet cable in lieu of WIFI to transfer data from old MAC to new.

Is it possible to use an ethernet patch cable in lieu of wifi when transferring data using Setup Assistant or Migration Assistant,

Hi perlin,

YES! Please do!

WiFi Migration always fails. For a reliable Migration, you must use Ethernet, but I wouldn't use a Patch Cable. Use a standard Ethernet cable instead.

Cheers,
