I noticed since i got my mac mini m1 that the process Photolibraryd writing lots of data to my SSD disk, like around 50 - 100gb per day (and around 70gb read). I have a huge library of 30k photos, but they all have been indexed and scanned before.
Does anyone know what the process Photolibraryd do and how i can stop it to write that amount of data to my SSD drive?

If you have recently updated to the M1 - it may be working through some library optimisations, syncing with iCloud, or sorting out what should be in photostream. Obviously this might take a while for a large library. I'd leave it a week or two and see if it settles down.
I am having the same issue, with a library around the same size. also, have had the Mac min (M1) fo r about the same amount of time. Google Backup and Sync is writing about 10GB a day in addition. Would love to see someone over a suggestion for resolving this issue.
forgot to mention that my 30k library is around 600gb on SSD drive, which makes it really odd that Photolibraryd
is writing 50-100gb per day on my photos.
I got my mac mini for 3 months ago and all photos been downloaded as original to the drive, so the sync and optimizing should be done by now.
